Candidates from all over the world can apply to the GOALS Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree.
Both scholarship and self-funded applicants submit their application through the same online application form.
Eligibility
Academic requirements
Candidates must hold a Higher Education (HE) undergraduate degree (e.g., Bachelor, Licence, 180ECTS) or a recognised equivalent level of learning in accordance to the GOALS Master programme.
The expected scientific background is the following: Sport management (sport sociology, sport marketing, sport communication, sport finances, sport economics, sport event management) or Management/business administration (sociology, marketing, communication, finances, economics, event management) or Sport studies (physical education, sport coaching, fitness, sport and wellness).
Students enrolled in their last year of undergraduate degree can provide an official certificate of registration produced by their HE institution. If selected, they must provide their official degree or certificate of Bachelor degree achievement by the 30th of August, or their enrolment to the programme will be canceled.
Language proficiency
The whole GOALS programme is taught in English and English proficiency is therefore a basic requirement. All non-English native speakers must attest a valid B2 English level (CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference) or equivalent:

Required documents
Eligible applicants to the GOALS Master programme must attach to their online application the following list of documents, in a PDF format.

Legal copy of Bachelor degree or recognised equivalent related to sport studies, management or business administration (plus English translation), or a formal letter from their university stating they will finish their Bachelor of Science programme (or equivalent) before their enrolment in the GOALS Master programme

Legal copy of official academic transcript for the whole degree and average grade (plus English translation)

Curriculum Vitae, preferably using the Europass template (or max. 3 pages)

Two recommendation letter from an academic and a professional referee. You will inform your referee and fill in the application file with their email address. They will directly receive an email inviting them to upload the letter via a link.
You do not need to provide a motivation letter. However, you will be asked to express your motivation on the application platform. When a translation of the documents is needed, applicants should provide a copy of the original documents and their legal translation in English.
Application procedure
1. Online application
You must fill in an online application form, in English, and provide all required documents. Your online application must be submitted before the deadline of the call.
After submission, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement of receipt by e-mail (check you spam box if not).
2. Interview of shortlisted candidates
After a first analysis and ranking of the applications, a short list determines students to be interviewed by the evaluators. The 20 minutes interview is designed to explore candidates’ motivation to study in the GOALS course, their critical thinking skills and understanding of social work issues. Candidates will also be allowed to ask questions about the GOALS course.
Interviews will be conducted by videoconference.
3. Final selection
Files are reviewed and marked on a scale from very poor to outstanding, for each selection criteria by each partner university. Each file being examined three times thus receives three marks which are added and automatically averaged. The final ranking of applicants will be made by combining the scores from the paper applications (50%) with interview performance (50%). The generated ranking is used by the Selection and Examination Board to establish a selection of approximately 50 applicants.
Two final lists of selected students for the GOALS Master programme are constituted:

Applicants from the main list can be awarded an Erasmus Mundus scholarship (European and non-European) or self-funded

Applicants from the reserve list will be contacted in case of a withdrawal or can also register as self-funded students, within the limits of available places.

5. Student Agreement
Upon enrollment to GOALS International Master, all students will be asked to sign GOALS Student Agreement, listing and defining the rights and responsabilities of the students.
